CDL Class A Driver
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CDL-A Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires maintaining timely deliveries while upholding high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. Drivers must conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, manage documentation accurately, and adhere to company policies and operational procedures.
Key responsibilities include ensuring proper cargo handling, navigating routes efficiently, and maintaining clear communication with dispatch and customers. The CDL-A Driver plays a critical role in supporting operational success and delivering excellent service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The CDL-A Driver is responsible for operating trucks to transport construction materials and equipment to various job site locations safely and professionally, following DOT regulations
- Performs daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines
- Checks fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operation
- Keeps accurate log of deliveries and completes required paperwork for billing
- Safely load and unload equipment or materials using heavy machinery
- Perform minor maintenance including maintaining vehicle cleanliness
- Monitor vehicle systems and maintain daily vehicle mileage logs
- Follow all company policies and procedures for a safe working environment
- Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions
- Work in the yard area to stockpile and move materials as needed
- Management of labor hours and expenses through company programs
- Comply with both OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies
- Act as a team member to stay on task and meet standards of quality
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certifications/Skills
- OSHA 10
- Valid CDL-A driver’s license
- Hoisters 2A/1C license
Experience
- 5 years of CDL-A
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Regularly required to drive, sit, talk, listen, walk, climb, bend, reach and stretch
