Equipment Operator
ROLE SUMMARY
The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy construction equipment while supporting field operations across site preparation, utility installation, and concrete and foundation work. This role requires the ability to read and interpret plans, operate a variety of heavy machinery, perform general labor and installation tasks, and maintain equipment and accurate records through company systems. The Equipment Operator plays a key role in maintaining productivity, quality, and safety on the job site while assisting with crew coordination to meet project schedules and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform the following duties, including but not limited to: reading plans, operating equipment (i.e., loaders, excavators, bulldozers, and compactors), general laboring, use of gas and electric power tools, installation of stormwater, utility, sewer, and septic systems, layout and installation of concrete structures, forms, and foundations
- Equipment maintenance
- Record keeping through company programs
- Management of labor hours and expenses through company programs
- Comply with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies
- Aid in keeping the crew on task to meet the standards of quality and deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- OSHA 10
- Basic hand and cordless tools-see attached list
- Valid driver’s license, and Hoisters 1C/2A license
Classification: non-exempt / hourly
